Terms of Use

WASHI Microfinance Uganda Limited
Last updated: 12 October 2026

Welcome to washimicrofinance.com, the website of WASHI Microfinance Uganda Limited (“WASHI”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

These Terms of Use explain the conditions for accessing and using our website, including its information, enquiry forms and other features. Please read them carefully. By using this website, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the website.

1. About WASHI and this website: This website is operated by WASHI Microfinance Uganda Limited, a company operating in Uganda.

Head Office and Branch:
Mbale Head Office Branch
Plot 007, Nabuyonga Rise Road
Behind Independent Baptist Church
Mbale, Uganda

Email: contact@washimicrofinance.com
Telephone: +256 749 306114

The website provides general information about WASHI, our loan products, how we work, customer support and other business activities. These terms govern website use. They do not replace or amend any loan agreement or other separate agreement you enter into with WASHI.

2. Information is not an offer of credit: Information on this website is provided for general information. It is not personalised financial advice, an offer of credit, or a guarantee that WASHI will approve or disburse a loan.

Loan approval depends on the requirements applicable to the relevant product, including eligibility, identity verification, repayment capacity, assessment and approval. Group membership and group guarantees apply where required by the particular lending programme.

A product described on the website may not be available in every area or at every time. Products marked “Coming soon” or “In development” are not open for applications unless we expressly announce otherwise.

Please contact our branch for current product availability, loan amounts, interest rates, fees, repayment terms and eligibility requirements.

3. Website enquiries and loan applications: Our public contact form is for enquiries, callback requests and expressions of interest. Completing it does not constitute a completed loan application or create a loan agreement.

Submitting an enquiry, receiving a callback or registering interest in a product does not guarantee approval, reserve funds or create an entitlement to a loan.

An automated confirmation acknowledges receipt of your message only. It is not confirmation of eligibility, approval or disbursement. Formal applications must follow the process explained by our authorised representatives. Any approved loan will be governed by the relevant loan agreement and applicable documentation. A Key Facts Statement summarises the main costs and terms; it does not replace the full loan agreement.

4. Accuracy and changes to information: We take reasonable care to keep website information accurate and current. However, information may contain errors or become outdated. We may update products, availability, eligibility criteria, rates, fees and procedures, subject to applicable law and our existing contractual obligations. Such changes do not automatically alter an existing loan agreement. Before making a borrowing decision, confirm the relevant details with our authorised representatives and review the written terms provided to you. If you notice an error or conflicting information, please contact us. Nothing in this section removes our responsibility to provide information as required by law.

5. Responsible use: You must use this website lawfully and responsibly. You must not:

  • Use it for fraud, impersonation or another unlawful purpose.
  • Knowingly submit false or misleading information.
  • Submit another person’s personal information without appropriate authority or another lawful basis.
  • Attempt to access systems, accounts or information without permission.
  • Disrupt the website, interfere with its security or introduce malicious software.
  • Send spam, threats, abusive messages or unlawful content.
  • Copy or use protected content in a way that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • Misrepresent yourself as a WASHI employee, representative or authorised partner.

Where reasonably necessary, we may restrict access, investigate misuse or report suspected unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities, subject to applicable law.

 6. Enquiries and safe communication: Please provide accurate contact details so that we can respond to your enquiry. Where appropriate, we may contact you by telephone or email about the request you have submitted.

Do not include national ID numbers, bank account details, PINs, passwords or other sensitive financial information in the public enquiry form. Our authorised representatives will explain how to provide any documents required during a formal application.

Do not pay money to a personal mobile money number merely because someone claims it will secure a WASHI loan. Confirm payment instructions directly with our branch using the contact details on this page, and obtain an official receipt for authorised payments.

Report suspected impersonation or suspicious payment requests to contact@washimicrofinance.com or +256 749 306114.

 7. Intellectual property: Unless stated otherwise, website text, logos, branding, graphics, photographs and other materials belong to WASHI or are used with permission from their respective owners. You may view, download or print reasonable extracts for personal, non-commercial information, provided you retain relevant ownership notices and do not alter the material or misrepresent its source. Other reproduction, publication, distribution, modification or commercial use requires permission from the relevant rights holder, unless permitted by law. You must not use WASHI’s name or logo in a way that falsely suggests endorsement, employment, partnership or authority to act on our behalf.

8. External links and services: The website may link to websites or services operated by third parties. These links are provided for convenience and do not, by themselves, indicate WASHI’s endorsement. We do not control third-party websites. Their content, availability, security and handling of personal information are governed by their own terms and policies. Please review those terms and policies before providing information or using an external service. This section does not exclude responsibilities that WASHI retains under applicable law.

9. Privacy and cookies: Our Privacy Notice explains how personal information collected through the website is handled, including information submitted through enquiry forms. Where cookies or similar technologies are used, relevant information and available choices are provided through our privacy information and cookie controls. Using this website or accepting these Terms of Use does not, by itself, constitute consent to every use of personal information or to optional cookies. Where consent is required, it will be requested separately. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under applicable Ugandan data-protection law.

10. Website availability and security: We aim to maintain a functioning and reasonably secure website, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that it will always be free from technical faults. Access may be interrupted or restricted for maintenance, updates, security concerns or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We may change or discontinue website features, subject to applicable law. This does not cancel existing agreements or remove your rights under them. If the website or contact form is unavailable, please telephone our branch or email us directly.

11. Our responsibility and your legal rights: To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, unauthorised misuse of the website by others, or third-party websites that we do not operate. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These terms do not remove applicable consumer rights, data-protection rights or rights under an existing agreement with WASHI.

12. Questions and complaints: For questions about the website, these terms or our services, contact:

Email: contact@washimicrofinance.com
Telephone: +256 749 306114

You may also contact the manager of our Mbale Head Office Branch.

For grievance escalation, email hasan@washimicrofinance.com.

Contacting WASHI does not prevent you from approaching a competent regulator, court or other authorised complaints body, or exercising any right available under applicable law.

 13. Changes to these terms: We may update these terms to reflect changes to the website, our operations or applicable law. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated date. Changes apply to website use from the stated effective date, to the extent permitted by law. They do not retrospectively change an existing loan agreement or remove rights that have already arisen. Where additional notice or agreement is legally required, we will follow the applicable requirements.

14. Governing law: These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Disputes concerning website use may be brought before the competent courts or other authorised dispute-resolution bodies in Uganda, subject to applicable law. Nothing in these terms restricts a right to use a complaints or dispute-resolution procedure available by law. If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
